After seeing a new Burger King ad using the same format, I thought I would direct some attention to these short short films on which the new ad was seemingly based. The series, called Honesty has its characters reverse spoken words with their subtext. This technique creates very witty scenes and is extremely difficult to pull off well, since it is so utterly unnatural. Watching these now after a few months, I am still both confused and amused.

Guy on date [sweetly, to waitress]: "This is a first date, so I'm going to pretend to understand terms like, uh, reduction and demi-glaze."
Watiress [earnestly]: "Well, I know the perfect wine for you. The ... third cheapest."
